Weekend Retreat presented by the Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association (CNPA)
November 19, 2016 (3:00 - 9:00pm)
November 20, 2016 (8:00am - 5:00pm)
The CNPA (Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association) is hosting me at the Guest House Center in Chester, CT for a day and a half workshop for healing professionals, entitled, "The Mindful Practitioner." In this workshop/retreat we will explore (and practice) Mindfulness Meditation and how it can support a process of personal healing and transformation as well as provide a powerful tool for use in our work with our own patients in clinical care. This will be a retreat-style workshop, designed to inform and educate, while providing a restorative environment of self nurturing and rejuvination.
We all understand that stress has deep and wide influences on all of our patients, so what do you do about it? Mindfulness is a hugely valuable addition to the care plans of every single one of your patients. It is a remarkable skill that dissolves the burden of stress by viewing it peacefully and accepting the circumstances as they are. This has profound effects on people where no other method seems to be effective. Not only does stress disappear, but practicing mindfulness can resolve pain, insomnia, depression, anxiety, inflammation, immune suppression, infertility and more.
This course provides clear direction on how to establish a Mindfulness practice of your own and how to use mindfulness clinically. You will learn what it means to become a “mindful practitioner” and gain the tools to needed to accomplish that.
Practicing Mindfully has surprising and positive effects on you and your patients. It dramatically changes the way you are with clients and evokes a strong therapeutic effect just by your mindful nature. You will explore the healing power of mindfulness in the healing process and be exposed to the scientific research that is demonstrating without a doubt that ‘mindfulness IS medicine!’ Finally, you will be guided in how to clinically apply and integrate this knowledge into your practice.
Mindfulness is a potent therapy that complements every other strategy you employ!
